Horror Nights XX is Coming

Posted in Uncategorized on July 9th, 2010 by Nick Vollentine

Our friends at Universal have updated their site announcing the dates for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights!  What night will you go?  I think October 3rd is a good date to go, but that is just me. ;)  Check the link to see the haunting nights for yourself.  If you dare.

Horror Nights Hotel Stay!

Posted in beer, chainsaws on August 25th, 2009 by John Forsee

Alright, so, I started looking into the hotel information to see how the pricing was going to be and here’s what I got.

Rodeway Inn
This is where we stayed last time. Extremely close to the park, and within walking distance. All we had to do was walk over the overpass that goes across I-4 and it brought us straight into City Walk, near where the movie theater is. It’s cheap, close, and good for what we need it for: A place to crash after drinking.

Days Inn International
I believe I’ve stayed here before, and it was in slightly worse condition than Rodeway, and a bit farther from the park. It is, however, slightly less expensive. And the walk was maybe 15 – 20 minutes longer than Rodeway. Either way, this one is good for what it’s intended purpose: A place to crash after drinking.

I’m pretty sure these are the closest to the park at the cheapest cost. Everything else is in the $150 – $200 price range, which is a bit ridiculous when we only need it for the sake of passing out. So, for those of you planning to stay the night, these are probably going to be your best bet. And, if you want to bring the cost down even more, we can see about grouping people up in the rooms. Everyone is more than welcome to find somewhere else if they would like, but I’m pretty sure a few of us will be staying in one of these two choices.

Horror Nights Shirt Design!

Posted in beer, chainsaws on August 5th, 2009 by John Forsee

I think it’s time to get the ball rolling on this again. We need to start hashing out ideas so we can get a finalized version of the shirt going. I’m pretty sure it’s going to have to be black again, and I was thinking of including the design from last years shirt as our ‘logo’ on the upper left chest area of the shirt, that way we have something to tie them all together with as the years go on. Maybe just change the year to whatever the current year may be, and stick with that design as our ‘bread and butter.’ Obviously this can change if we can find a better way to work the design into the shirt. So, let’s hear it people! Get the ideas going!

I’ll be There!

Posted in beer, chainsaws on August 1st, 2009 by Nick Vollentine

So I didn’t get the call from Universal yesterday. That means I’ll be right there with you guys on Halloween night!

I applied and interviewed for a backstage position for the event. I had an interview and would have received a phone call no later than yesterday if I was chosen. No phone call = no job. :(

Movie Night Schedule

Posted in movies on July 8th, 2009 by Nick Vollentine

We are starting a new weekly feature post starting next week and running until September 23rd: The day before Horror Nights opens.  John, Josh, Casey, and I will be watching and reviewing a movie related to each of this year’s characters Jigsaw, Chucky, and the Wolfman each week.

We’ll talk about what we liked, what we didn’t like, what scenes still hold up and scare us even after watching it years later, what scenes we want to see recreated in the haunted houses etc.

Here is the schedule of the movies we will be watching.  Get your Netflix queue ready.

7/15: Saw

7/22: Saw II

7/29: Saw III

8/5: Saw IV
